Pre-Employment Transition Services

Pre-Employment Transition Services (PETS) are a coordinated set of activities for a student, ages 16-21 with a disability, designed within an outcome-oriented process that promotes movement from school to post-school activities leading to employment.

Services include:

  • Job exploration counseling
  • Work-based learning experiences
  • Counseling opportunities for enrollment in comprehensive transitions or post secondary educational programs
  • Instruction in self advocacy

UpLIFTD will visit each school assigned and teach a specially designed curriculum that expands each of the services listed above.  The schools served include Baker High, Baton Rouge Magnet High, Friendship Capital High, Glen Oaks, Lee High, McKinley High, Northeast High and Zachary High.
